White Shadow or 'Coptograph'. Papercut of Napoleon Bonaparte, laid loosely onto black background. Undated. Circa 1850. Dimensions: 210mm x 115mm approx. Good condition. These 'Whit e Shadows' were illuminated by candlelight, casting the shadow onto a screen. They form part of the 'archeology' of cinema, and due to their ephemeral nature are rare nowadays. Show more
