Napoletano or Basil ‘Napoletano’ (Ocimum basilicum) is a wonderful Italian lettuce leaf heirloom variety of basil from Naples, Italy. Well known for it's large (as big as your hand..), heavily wrinkled, and tender leaves with a sweet, spicy, anise-clove flavor. Ideal for pesto, Caprese salads, and wraps, this 2-3' tall plant at maturity is ideal for cooking and everything basil! Care Grows best in full sun but keeping the soil moderately rich and moist. Don't drown it and let the roots lay in water but keep moist - it can be damaged by heat stress. Growth Habit Forms a bushy, upright plant, typically reaching 2 to 3 feet in height. It is characterized by large, crinkled, intensely aromatic green leaves. Toxicity Deer resistant. Not considered toxic to pets.
