Narrow Path takes its name from the road Chengzi chose when he stopped selling his family's grapes to the state wineries and began making natural wine of his own. This is his Caber net Sauvignon, grown at the foot of the Great Wall in Huailai, Hebei and farmed biodynamically, aged sixteen months in stainless steel so nothing comes between you and the fruit. Made as he makes everything, with organic grapes, wild yeasts, no fining, no filtering and no added sulphur. Cassis and dark cherry, a graphite, herbal edge and firm but fresh tannins, a Cabernet with northern China's cool-climate lift rather than weight. Give it some air and serve it at cellar temperature.
