Nascetta (also known as Anascetta and Nas-cëtta) is a rare variety from the Langhe area of Piedmont in north-west Italy. It typically exhibits a delightful, floral aroma combined w ith honey, herbs, and exotic fruit. Often retaining a fresh acidity, the grape is capable of producing a well structured wine, especially when after a little oak aging. Nascetta was almost extinct when Elvio Cogno brought it back into commercial use in 1994. Although previously used in blends, typically with Vermentino and Moscato, it is now increasingly being used as a varietal and is now an authorized variety within the Langh DOC. Show more
