These native seeds are traditionally processed: ground into flour on a large 'puturlu' (stone) using a smaller 'ngalikirri' (grinding stone). The resulting flour is then combined with 'ngapa' (water) to create nourishing seed cakes, a vital bush tucker. Molly Napurrurla Martin is a pivotal artist from Yuendumu, whose works are celebrated for their profound storytelling. She meticulously translates her inherited Jukurrpa (Dreaming), including the Ngurlu Jukurrpa (Native Seed Dreaming), onto canvas.
