Discovered in the 1970s, the polymetallic massive sulphide deposit at Endeavor mine, Cobar, Robinson County, New South Wales, Australia commenced mining in 1983 under the name of E lura mine. Rebranding during the early 21st century gave it the Endeavor title. Despite being a multimillion ton operation only a few notable mineral discoveries have been reported, including some of the world's finest Mimetite crystals and extremely fine elongated spinel-twinned Native Silver crystals. This miniature specimen is one of the Native Silvers and is exceptionally long - reaching 6.8 cm in length. It is mounted on a circular acryllic base for display and handling. Show more
