Nano-hydroxyapatite is a natural fluoride alternative, first developed and used by NASA in 1970 in response to astronauts returning from space with mineral loss in their teeth and bones. In toothpaste, hydroxyapatite reduces teeth sensitivity, improves enamel health by filling and repairing microscopic pits and scratches on the enamel surface, removes plaque, and remineralizes and restores enamel. To Use Use this toothpaste just like you would a plastic-packaged tube of toothpaste. Packaging + End of Life Each tube is packaged in a cardboard tube, which can be recycled in curbside paper recycling. The tubes themselves are aluminum, which may be recyclable where you live. It’s gonna show up in a reused tea box, or a donated Amazon box, or maybe even an inside-out Girl Scout Cookies box. All of our shipping materials are always 100% plastic-free and reused as much as possible, with curbside-recyclable paper tape and a post-consumer recycled paper shipping label.
