Our Shell Cordovan is a vegetable-tanned leather from Shinki Hikaku in Japan and is finished by Leder Ogawa. Shell Cordovan is famous for its gorgeous shine and unique crease-resisting property due to the density of the leather. It requires very little maintenance and over time, develops a beautiful patina. Shell Cordovan begins as a high-shine leather and overtime becomes duller with wear. This shine can be replenished through the application of leather conditioner and brushing vigorously. Leather: Dark Navy Shell Cordovan (This navy is very dark and may appear black in some light. Under the direct sun, the blue will shine) Stitching Colour: Dark Navy Strap Thickness: 4.5mm at lugs, tapering to 2.2mm Temper: Medium Surface: Smooth with subtle follicles. As Japanese Shell Cordovan is not dyed through, bending the strap will reveal a lighter colour underneath and will darken with wear. Patina: Moderate Water Resistance: Moderate. To ensure longevity, avoid moisture or soaking our straps in water.
