The Sport MX-5 knob extends over the standard one by 25mm that gives more precise shift feeling. With 50mm diameter it is and feels heavy and solid in the hand. It will fully integ rate, covering the leather gaiter just at the correct height. Jass calls this a polished finish. However, we would refer to these as having a machine brushed finish. The Sport version is designed to be ergonomically for sportier driving, where the driver holds the gearstick from the side. Solid aluminum gear knob, specially designed for the MX-5 for functional integrity and perfect design fit. You can see a comparison of both the Classic and Sports design in the product gallery. The circumference of the gearknob, at it's widest point, is 160mm compared to the Classic style which is 170mm.
