The Canadians have been at it since the mid-80s and Unleashed Bastards arrives like a reminder that the genre d oesn't need reinventing, it needs executing properly.Frontman Freddy described the direction as red alert, which is pretty accurate. This is aggressive, technically sharp thrash metal that pulls from the classic North American school without sounding like a museum piece. The cult status Necronomicon carry in underground metal circles is well earned, and this album does nothing to tarnish it.
