A London Needle Co. pocket pin book, the little paper packet that lived in a sewing basket or a coat pocket. The printed sales pitch is the whole charm of it: "contains 82 pins, including 2 shawl pins. These pins are manufactured of the same steel that our celebrated needles are made of. The book can be refilled. London Needle Co., New York City, price complete, only 10 cts." The cover art is two children, one with a knapsack over the shoulder and the other wiping a tear. That 10 cent price and the bragging about steel put it well back in the early 1900s! It would be perfect framed as small graphic art, tucked into a sewing room shadow box, or cut into junk journals, collage, and altered art. Sewing and needlework collectors and advertising and packaging collectors both chase these. Lots of wear, which is what happens to a working paper notion that survived a sewing basket. The 82 count is what the packet advertises, not a count I made. See photos for exact condition. Note: Untested, as is, as seen, no guarantees. As a found vintage item, there may be wear, dust, and other callouts I miss. No cancellations.
