An original watercolour painting by Neil Collins of David Piper, the gentleman racer. Starting out in hillclimbing and sprinting, he rapidly graduated to circuit racing with a Lotu s VI and a Lotus XI sports car, before turning his hand to single-seaters. Such was David’s reputation, Steve McQueen used his expertise and skills in the making of the movie ‘Le Mans’. This experience left David with one leg & he nearly lost his life! Show more
