Neisser's solution I, for microscopy, Density (D) ~1 g/cm³, Boiling point (bp) ~100 °C The Neisser stain is a microbiological stain for visualising the polar bodies in the cytoplas m of gram-positive bacteria. This staining is used to identify diphtheria bacteria. Cells are stained with methylene blue and crystal violet in acidic solution and then counterstained with chrysoidin solution.
