Neptune Optical Multi-Surface Leak Sensor Neptune Optical Multi-Surface Leak Sensor is an LD-3 optical leak sensor for compatible Apex systems, designed to detect water on a wide range of surfaces through an available FMM port. LD-3 Leak Detection for Multiple Surfaces The Neptune Optical Multi-Surface Leak Sensor improves on traditional contact-style leak probes by using an optical detection method and an epoxied sensor design. This allows it to be placed on more surface types, including metal and epoxied cement floors, while reducing the false activation issues that can affect older probe styles on certain materials. Neptune LD-3 Leak Sensor Features Optical multi-surface leak sensor for compatible Apex systems Weighted design helps keep the sensor positioned on the monitored surface Epoxied sensor construction helps prevent water incursion into the sensor circuitry Can be used repeatedly after activation when properly dried and maintained Optical sensing allows placement on surfaces such as metal and epoxied cement floors Connects to a Neptune FMM port for Apex alerts and configured actions 5 metre wire length provides flexible placement around stands, sumps, reservoirs, and equipment areas Optical Multi-Surface Leak Sensor Specifications Product type: Apex optical leak detection sensor Model type: LD-3 Connection: Neptune FMM accessory port Detection type: Optical leak detection Cable length: 5 metres Placement: Multiple surface types including hard floors, metal surfaces, and epoxied cement floors Required module: Neptune FMM or compatible built-in FMM port Compatibility and Placement Notes The LD-3 is a leak sensor and the FMM port should be configured as Water On Floor, not as an optical level sensor. Place it where leaking water is likely to appear early, such as under a stand, beside a sump, near RODI equipment, around reservoirs, or below plumbing joints. Avoid locations where routine splashing or maintenance drips will cause nuisance alerts. Setup Directions Plug the LD-3 into an available FMM port, place the weighted sensor on the surface being monitored, and configure the port correctly in Apex Fusion. Test the sensor with a small controlled amount of water, confirm the alert or programmed action works, then dry the sensor fully before regular use.
