Then, gently and safely, we begin calming the nervous system so the symptoms can start to settle. As the nervous system finds more safety, many of the physical, emotional and mental symptoms begin to lose their grip. This isn't about becoming somebody new. It's about finding your way back to the person you were before life pulled you so far away from yourself. And having somebody beside you who understands the journey every step of the way.
