Netphos 50 should be used to prepare metal surfaces for painting or other types of product finishing. It can be used to remove rust, to degrease and phosphate surfaces and to passivate surfaces preparing them for storage. Ideal for removing traces of rust, from sound surfaces, without damaging the paintwork and, at low concentrations, it will leave a layer of iron phosphate on the treated surfaces. It is suitable for use with both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. NETPHOS 50 is used to de-rust mechanical parts to provide a bonding base for paint. The treated parts are also passivated so can remain unprotected for several weeks without risk of corrosion forming. Also, the composition of Netphos 50 allows for the de-rusting and passivation of slightly greasy parts. Netphos 50 should be used diluted in clean water and items can be either sprayed or submerged. The solution should be used at ambient temperature at a dilution between 10% and 50%. We recommend undertaking tests to establish the optimum concentration and contact time for your requirements. In addition to this Netphos 50 we have NETPHOS 50 GEL which has the same properties as this liquid product only in a gel form which can be very useful when treating pieces that are in-situ or verticle.
