Reynald Philippe has been living and working in New York since 2009. Influenced by leading figures in New York urban photography, such as Saul Leiter and Vivian Maier, the artist i nvites us to explore the city from a personal perspective. Through his images, he portrays a New York characterised by intense and contrasting atmospheres, with a cinematic feel that evokes classics such as Martin Scorsese’s Mean Streets and Taxi Driver, as well as the introspective aesthetic of Paul Schrader’s Light Sleeper.
