About This Image: Newport Layers So many layers. This image was captured after the sun rose on a fall morning. After getting slammed by a set of waves, Todd saw this wave coming through and couldn't resist shooting it, knowing he would take this wave on the head (he could have swam out, and not taken the shot, for a better chance at safety). There are many elements to this story: the offshore winds, the orange glow of the early morning sun, the bokeh balls, the perfectly breaking wave, the iconic tree across the channel and the Corona Del Mar hills.
