Nexus 220 Advanced Filtration The Nexus 220 delivers outstanding water clarity by combining powerful mechanical and biological filtration in one advanced, easy-to-use system. Building on the success of the award-winning Nexus range, this next-generation filter is designed for simple installation, efficient operation, and easy cleaning. The Nexus 220 features a redesigned Eazy filter with the all-new K+ Filter Media, which forms a static media bed to provide enhanced mechanical filtration. The moving bed uses proven K1 Media to provide excellent biological filtration. Together, these two filtration stages work to remove waste and support beneficial bacteria, helping to maintain crystal-clear, healthy pond water. All Nexus filtration systems can be installed in either pump-fed or gravity-fed configurations, allowing the system to be adapted to suit your pond setup. Nexus 220: Suitable for ponds up to 18,000 litres (4,000 gallons). Nexus 320: Suitable for ponds up to 34,000 litres (7,500 gallons). How the Nexus Works Water from the pond enters the Nexus through the inlet and flows into the inner chamber. Here, the water creates a vortex, allowing larger solids and debris to settle out before moving to the next stage of filtration. The water then passes through the stainless steel Eazy filter, where finer particles are removed during the mechanical filtration stage. This is achieved using a static bed of award-winning K+ Filter Media, which traps suspended solids as the water flows through. Once mechanically filtered, the water moves into the outer chamber, where the K1 Media moving bed provides biological filtration before the water is returned to the pond. Within the moving bed, beneficial bacteria colonize the protected surface area of the K1 Media. These bacteria naturally break down harmful ammonia and nitrite, converting them into nitrate as part of the biological filtration process. Finally, the clean, biologically filtered water passes through the outlet grill and flows back into the pond, completing the filtration cycle. InstallationNexus filtration systems can be installed on PUMP FED or GRAVITY FED set-ups. In all circumstances, the Nexus MUST be installed on a solid, level base.
