Nidularium schultesianum 'Fireball' is a compact bromeliad that lives up to its name, producing tight rosettes of strappy leaves that blaze from glossy green to deep, burgundy-red when grown in bright light. As the plant matures, the central cup flushes a vivid scarlet, signalling that it is ready to flower. Offset-forming and clump-building, 'Fireball' is a brilliant statement plant for a terrarium or a bright bathroom. Origins Nidularium schultesianum is native to the Atlantic forests of southeastern Brazil, where it grows as an epiphyte or lithophyte in warm, humid conditions with bright, filtered light.
