'Urban Arteries' reads the city as a living circulation, streets and crowds pulsing through the canvas like channels carrying the day's traffic. Nigel Cooke renders it in his signa ture mixed-media style, layered marks and running drips knitting the figures, vehicles and facades into one restless, textured whole. The title says everything about how Cooke sees a city, not as static architecture but as flow and energy. Largely self-taught and based in Yorkshire, he has built a devoted following for cityscapes that put feeling and movement ahead of literal detail. At bradburyART we are Northern Ireland's stockist for Nigel Cooke.
