About the artist Geraldine Napangardi Granites Geraldine Napangardi Granites was born in Yuendumu, a remote Aboriginal community approximately 290 kilometres north-west of Alice Springs, and has lived there throughout her life. She comes from a distinguished Warlpiri artistic family. Geraldine is the daughter of acclaimed artist Alma Nungarrayi Granites and the granddaughter of Paddy Japaljarri Sims and Bessie Nakamarra Sims, two founding artists of Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation. Through her family, Geraldine inherited important Jukurrpa stories, cultural knowledge and artistic traditions passed down across generations.
