Three years after our "Morning Sickness" collab sold out, Matt Stikker's back with the ultimate prequel! I've been talking about putting a photo of a pepperoni pizza on a ski base since forever. I may actually be the biggest fan of pizza you know. At one point I exclusively ate slices for lunch every single day… for years! So when we started brainstorming this "Nightlifer" graphic with Matt, it was the perfect excuse to finally make it happen. The concept? That epic night out ending exactly how it should - with pizza at 2am! The topsheet is pure visual insanity! One item leads to another, each triggering a random memory of a night out you’ll never forget. Matt layered content on top of content filled with vibrant greens, purples, and oranges that pop against the black background like it's under a blacklight. You'll continually discover new details in the graphic, months after owning it! Matt’s process starts with loose pencil sketches that we go back and forth on, dialing in variations of the content and the layout until we’re both hyped. Then he works his magic letting his micro pen ink organically guide how the artwork wants to flow, and fills it all in. Matt's a Portland legend who even created artwork for Metallica and is part of a death metal band called “Drouth”. You can see his horror-inspired style everywhere in his work, perfect for capturing the chaos of a legendary night out. I made only 300 pairs on The Allplay ski, each hand-signed and numbered.
