The Nike Kobe VIII FTB, part of the "Fade to Black" pack, is a tribute to Kobe Bryant's illustrious basketball career as he neared retirement. Released in 2016, the FTB series cele brated Kobe's final season in the NBA and featured a collection of Kobe's signature models, each with a distinct and understated colorway. The Kobe VIII FTB, known for its monochromatic fade from dark to light, was symbolic of Kobe's transition from the prime of his career to retirement. This sneaker retained the lightweight and performance-oriented design of the original Kobe VIII, featuring a engineered mesh upper, Lunarlon cushioning, and the signature Kobe sheath logo on the tongue. It not only paid homage to Kobe's basketball legacy but also represented his journey from a dynamic, explosive young talent to a seasoned, wise veteran. The Kobe VIII FTB, like the rest of the "Fade to Black" collection, is a cherished piece of sneaker history that encapsulates the spirit of a basketball icon as he bid farewell to the game he loved.
