OverviewThe NIS2 Directive establishes a unified legal framework to uphold cybersecurity in 18 critical sectors across the EU. It is designed to enhance cybersecurity across the European Union by establishing a high common level of security for network and information systems. Companies must implement stronger risk management measures, report incidents, and comply with minimum cybersecurity standards. National authorities are given greater enforcement powers, and the ability to impose significant fines for non-compliance. Under the NIS 2 Directive, essential and important entities must adopt appropriate and proportionate technical, operational, and organizational measures to manage cybersecurity risks. These measures aim to protect network and information systems, as well as to prevent or minimize the impact of incidents on service recipients and interconnected services. The NIS2 Directive Foundation is a certification intended for IT professionals seeking to validate their foundational knowledge of the NIS2 Directive.
