Released in 1976, "No Deposit, No Return" is a Walt Disney crime comedy directed by Norman Tokar and starring David Niven, Darren McGavin, Don Knotts, Barbara Feldon, Kim Richards and Brad Savage. The story follows two neglected children who stage their own kidnapping and become entangled with a pair of inept safecrackers, creating a chaotic pursuit involving crooks, police and a pet skunk. Inspired in part by O. Henry’s stories "The Ransom of Red Chief" and "A Retrieved Reformation", the film is a broad example of Disney’s mid-1970s family comedy style. Its ensemble cast, especially the pairing of Don Knotts and Darren McGavin, has helped it remain a nostalgic favourite among viewers of the studio’s live-action films. This original US one-sheet was produced for the film’s first theatrical campaign and is dated 1975 ahead of its 1976 release.
