NOHRD WallBar
NOHrD | WallBars NOHRD WallBar Wooden Wall Bars and Pull-Up Station The NOHRD WallBar is a wall-mounted wooden wall bar, the gymnasium stall bar or Swedish ladder rebuilt as furnit ure, measuring 230 x 79 x 13 cm (90.6 x 31.1 x 5.1 in.) and sitting 6 cm (2.4 in.) off the wall face. The side rails are curved rather than square, the rungs are solid wood at 38 mm (1.5 in.) diameter, and the top bar folds out and clicks into place to become a pull-up bar. Maximum user weight for the panel is 120 kg (265 lb), the figure the whole installation is planned around. NOHrD builds it with an integrated safety cord and durable wall fixtures and tests it for full commercial gym use. It comes with either 10 bars or 14 bars. The 10-bar panel spaces its rungs 18 cm apart (7.1 in.) and the 14-bar panel closes the spacing to 10 cm (3.9 in.), across a panel that weighs 19 to 21 kg (42 to 46 lb) whichever count you take. Closer rungs give you more grip heights, which matters both for the exercises themselves and for where the clip-on accessories hang, so the 14-bar is the version to pick if you intend to build the system out. Everything else about the two panels is identical, including the fixings and the finishes. The WallBar is the hub of a system. Six NOHrD accessories hang directly on the rungs and store there as well: the WallBar Extension, the Multi-Adapter, the Locking Set, the WallBar Bench, the WallBars Desk and the CombiTrainer. One of them has a dependency worth knowing before you order: the Desk only works in combination with the Multi-Adapter, which is a separate purchase. The panel is cut in six wood finishes and most of those accessories are offered in matching woods, so a system assembled a piece at a time over several years still reads as one object on the wall. Panel size 230 x 79 cm 90.6 x 31.1 in., 13 cm deep Max user weight 120 kg 265 lb maximum user weight Rungs 10 or 14 18 cm or 10 cm apart, 38 mm thick Distance to wall 6 cm 2.4 in. of standoff behind the panel Fold-out top bar for pull-ups Integrated safety cord Panel weight 19 to 21 kg (42 to 46 lb) Six wood finishes, Shadow to Walnut The panel Why the Rung Count Changes the Exercise Two decisions sit inside a WallBar order and both are made before it ships: how many rungs the panel carries and which wood it is cut in. The rung count sets your grip heights and your accessory heights for the life of the unit, so it is worth thinking about for longer than the finish. 01 A Top Bar That Folds Out for Pull-Ups The top rung is an arm that pulls out from the panel and clicks securely into place, which puts a horizontal bar clear of the wall at the top of a 230 cm frame. Pull-ups, chin-ups, hanging work and suspension training all run off it, and the arm folds flat again when you are done so the panel returns to a 13 cm depth. Clicked out, the arm stands clear of the panel at the top of the frame; folded back, it sits flush with the side rails. The Locking Set is the accessory that holds the arm closed when the bar is not in use. Folds to 13 cm 02 Ten Bars at 18 cm or Fourteen at 10 The 10-bar panel puts 18 cm (7.1 in.) between rungs and the 14-bar panel puts 10 cm (3.9 in.) between them, on a panel that stands 230 cm tall in both layouts. Closer spacing gives you finer control over grip and foot height, and it gives the clip-on accessories more positions to hang from. Take the 14-bar if a bench or a desk is anywhere in the plan. Panel weight runs 19 to 21 kg (42 to 46 lb) across the range, so the wall fixing is specified the same way for either count. 10 cm spacing 03 Rated to 120 Kilograms on the Wall 120 kg (265 lb) is the maximum user weight for the WallBar, and it is the number that matters most on a product that transfers everything it carries into a wall. A person hanging from the fold-out arm loads the top of the panel in a direction that pulls away from the wall as well as down it, and a bench or a CombiTrainer hung on a rung adds its own mass on top of the user. Plan the installation around that rating, and around a wall that can hold a 230 cm panel taking it. 120 kg rated 04 Solid Wood Rungs at 38 Millimetres Every rung is solid wood turned to 38 mm (1.5 in.) diameter, which is a grip thickness close to a standard pull-up bar and thicker than a broomstick-gauge dowel. The side rails are curved in profile so the panel reads as a piece of joinery on the wall, and an integrated safety cord runs as part of the build. NOHrD tests the WallBar for use in a full commercial gym environment, which is a harder duty cycle than a spare bedroom will ever ask of it. 38 mm rungs Installation What the Wall Has to Carry A WallBar is not floor-standing equipment and that changes the buying question. Before the finish, before the rung count, the question is which wall in the building can take a 230 cm panel rated to a 120 kg user, because everything the unit does ends up in that wall. 01 230 cm of clear wall The panel is 90.6 in. tall and 31.1 in. wide, so it wants a clear run of wall with nothing crossing it: no dado, no radiator, no window reveal. 02 6 cm of standoff It stands 2.4 in. proud of the wall face and is 13 cm deep in total, so it intrudes less into a room than most bookshelves. 03 The wall takes 120 kg Every load on the rungs ends up in the wall fixings. Send us your wall construction and we will get NOHrD's installation requirements for it before you order. 04 Floor space in front Allow room to hang, swing and lie down in front of the panel. A CombiTrainer needs 190 cm of clear floor out from the wall. 05 Assembly required The WallBar ships flat in one package measuring 15 x 21 x 222 cm and is built and hung on site. 06 No power anywhere Nothing on the WallBar or its accessories needs an outlet, so siting is purely a question of wall and floor. 07 Commercial gym tested NOHrD builds and tests the panel for full commercial gym use, with an integrated safety cord and its own wall fixtures. 08 One year, two with registration One year from shipment, going to two years on components and wooden components when you register inside the first year. In detail Building the System on the Rungs The clip-ons Six Accessories Hang on the Same Rungs The WallBar system is one panel and six parts that hook onto it, and each of them stores on the rungs when it is not in use, keeping the floor under the panel clear. The Extension is a 79 x 21.5 cm, 5 kg piece that mounts at the bottom of any NOHrD wall bar. The Multi-Adapter hangs one way up as a triceps dip support and the other way up as a horizontal bar. The Locking Set is a 1 kg part that locks the fold-out arm closed and fits every NOHrD WallBar. The Bench and the Desk hook straight onto a rung, and the CombiTrainer turns the panel into a bodyweight cable trainer. Extension adds height and one bar at the base, 79 x 21.5 cm and 5 kg Multi-Adapter hangs as a dip support or as a horizontal bar Locking Set: 1 kg, locks the fold-out arm closed Bench: 136 x 33 cm, 15 kg, hangs up to 95 cm height Desk: 70 x 56 x 2 cm, 10 kg, needs the Multi-Adapter CombiTrainer at 190 x 60 cm and 21 kg, on bodyweight resistance Six clip-ons Stored on the rungs Fitment The Desk Needs the Multi-Adapter First One accessory in the range cannot be ordered on its own. The WallBars Desk is used in combination with the WallBars Multi-Adapter, hooking onto a rung through it, so a desk bought alone arrives as a 70 x 56 x 2 cm laminated top with nothing to hang it from. Order the two on the same line and the desk arrives with something to hang from. Every other accessory in the system hooks straight onto a rung with nothing in between, including the Bench, which hangs on any rung up to a 95 cm height and needs no adapter. The CombiTrainer is designed exclusively for use with the NOHrD WallBars and does not include the panel, so it is an addition to a WallBar order and never a substitute for one. WallBars Desk: only for use with the Multi-Adapter Multi-Adapter is a separate purchase and a separate part Bench, Extension, Locking Set and CombiTrainer need no adapter CombiTrainer does not include the WallBar panel Every accessory fits the 10-bar and the 14-bar panel Desk plus adapter Order together The wood Picking a Finish for a 230 cm Panel A WallBar occupies more visible wall than almost anything else in a home, so the finish carries more weight here than it does on a bench or a box. Shadow is the black-stained option and the entry point on the ladder, and against a pale wall it reads as a graphic line and not as a piece of gym kit. Walnut sits at the top of the ladder and is the one to take where the panel has to hold its own against furniture that is already in the room. Every wooden surface takes NOHrD's hard wax oil, so a knock can be re-oiled by hand, and the NOHRD Care Set holds the oil, lubricant, fleece and cloths for it. Six wood finishes, Shadow at the entry and Walnut at the top Cheapest to dearest in that order across the NOHrD range Curved side rails, solid wood rungs at 38 mm NOHrD hard wax oil on every wooden surface Most accessories are offered in matching finishes Six finishes Hard wax oil The range The NOHrD WallBar and What Hangs on It Everything in this group hooks onto the same rungs, and every one of the clip-ons is useless without the panel underneath it. Six products make up the system: the panel itself, the CombiTrainer, the Bench, the Desk, the Multi-Adapter and the Extension, each with its own weight, clearance and fixing to plan around. It is a wall-mounted unit and there is no freestanding version of it. The panel is 230 cm (90.6 in.) tall and stands 6 cm (2.4 in.) off the wall face, and every load put on the rungs, up to the 120 kg (265 lb) user rating, is carried by the wall and its fixings. That rules out a partition you are not sure about and it rules out the back of a wardrobe. Tell us the wall construction you are working with and we will get NOHrD's installation requirements for that wall type before the order goes in. Should I order 10 bars or 14?+ Take 14 if you plan to hang accessories on it. The 10-bar panel spaces the rungs 18 cm (7.1 in.) apart and the 14-bar panel spaces them 10 cm (3.9 in.) apart on the same 230 cm panel, so the 14 gives you more grip heights for exercises and more hanging positions for the bench, the desk and the CombiTrainer. Panel weight runs 19 to 21 kg (42 to 46 lb) across both, and the fixings, the 230 cm height and the six finishes are common to them. Nothing else changes between them. How much weight will the WallBar take?+ 120 kg, which is 265 lb. It is the maximum user weight for the panel, and it is the figure the whole installation gets planned around, because everything loaded onto the rungs ends up in the wall behind them. An accessory adds its own mass on top of the user: the CombiTrainer is 21 kg, the Bench is 15 kg and the Desk is 10 kg, and all three transfer into the same rungs and the same wall fixings. The rating reads the same for a private room and for a commercial gym. What warranty comes with the WallBar?+ One year from the date of shipment, covering both private and commercial use, with repair or replacement at NOHrD's works in Nordhorn or a nominated service centre. Register within that first year and the term becomes two years on all components and all wooden components. Spare parts carry ninety days. Wear and tear, modification and missed maintenance are outside the cover. Can you do pull-ups on it?+ Yes, that is what the fold-out arm is for. The top bar pulls out and clicks into place to give a horizontal bar clear of the wall, then folds flat again so the panel goes back to 13 cm deep. Pull-ups, chin-ups, hanging leg work and suspension training all run from it. The Locking Set holds the arm closed between sessions and fits every NOHrD WallBar. How far does it stick out from the wall?+ The standoff is 6 cm (2.4 in.) and the panel itself is 13 cm (5.1 in.) deep, so with the fold-out arm closed the whole unit projects less than a shallow bookshelf. A wall bar therefore works in a hallway or a bedroom where a rack would not. The accessories are the parts that need room: allow 190 cm of clear floor in front of the panel for the CombiTrainer. Which accessories fit the NOHRD WallBar?+ Six, and they all hook onto the rungs: the Extension, the Multi-Adapter, the Locking Set, the Bench, the Desk and the CombiTrainer. Each one stores on the panel when it is not in use. The only ordering catch is the Desk, which only works in combination with the Multi-Adapter. Do I need the Multi-Adapter to use the Desk?+ Yes, and it is a separate purchase. The WallBars Desk hooks onto a rung in combination with the Multi-Adapter, so ordering the desk alone leaves you with a 70 x 56 x 2 cm work surface and no means of hanging it. Put both on the same order. No other WallBars accessory needs an adapter of its own: the Bench, the Extension, the Locking Set and the CombiTrainer all hang directly. Does the CombiTrainer include the WallBar?+ No. The CombiTrainer is built exclusively for use with NOHrD WallBars and ships without the panel, so it is an addition to a WallBar and never a replacement for one. It is 190 x 60 cm and 21 kg, it hooks in at different rung heights to change the angle of the sliding bench, and it folds flat and hangs on the WallBar for storage. Which wood finishes are available?+ The ladder runs Shadow, Oak, Vintage, Club, Cherry, Walnut, and it climbs in price in that order. Most of the accessories are offered in matching finishes. The Extension and the Multi-Adapter are the exceptions, built in five woods with no Vintage among them. The rungs are solid wood at 38 mm (1.5 in.) diameter and the side rails are curved in profile. Every wooden surface carries NOHrD's hard wax oil, which can be refreshed by hand using the NOHRD Care Set. How does it arrive and does it need assembling?+ It ships flat in one package measuring 15 x 21 x 222 cm and does need assembling and mounting on site. Plan for two people: the panel is 19 to 21 kg (42 to 46 lb), and holding 230 cm of wall bar level while the fixings go in is not a solo job. Have the wall confirmed before the delivery date. Is it strong enough for a commercial gym?+ NOHrD builds the WallBar with an integrated safety cord and its own wall fixtures and tests it for use in a full commercial gym environment. The warranty covers private and commercial use alike. The 120 kg (265 lb) user rating is the same in both settings, so a gym specifying it for members should treat that figure as the working limit.
