The built-in decibel meter measures and displays noise levels in real-time, and the 8" digital display is easy to read from afar. When levels surpass 85 dB, the sign lights up bright blue to notify those nearby of the requirement to wear hearing protection. An audible beeping further reinforces the need to put on hearing protection. The signal is provided for 1 minute, or until the noise level subsides. Integrated neodymium magnets provide a quick and secure mounting method for steel columns in shops and warehouses. For mounting to walls or other nonferrous surfaces, countersunk steel strike plates are included for quick and easy magnetic mounting. The sign is powered from an included standard 5v USB power supply. Also included are both 3' and 15' long USB power cords for various installations. No need for expensive electrical installation work, just plug into the nearest outlet. Two options are available depending on preferences: Option 1: with audible beeping alert over 85 db Option 2: silent alert (no beeping) - notification light only The beeping alert option provides an audible reminder that hearing protection is required. The sign beeps along with the notification light whenever sound is over 85 db and for 1 minute after the noise subsides. While this encourages hearing protection, which blocks out the beeping, some may prefer the silent option with just the visual notification light.
