The microporous structure is designed to permit nutrient diffusion across the membrane while resisting penetration of fibroblasts and bacteria. The membrane is supple enough to adapt to tissue contours while maintaining sufficient rigidity over the bone defect. As a non-resorbable membrane, it is designed for subsequent clinical retrieval after the intended regenerative period.
