Brian Friel was born in Northern Ireland and has lived there all his life; to further recommend him he has written four plays, the latest of which is "Philadelphia, Here I Come!", while his stories have appeared in The New Yorker, Commonweal, the Critic, The Bell, Kilkenny Magazine, and The Atlantic Monthly, among others.
