"I was asked to produce a zine, comic or artist book as part of this year’s publication programme. I straight away was enthusiastic about the work, looking back to previous submiss ions from last year. I settled on the idea of a zine, making the front and back of it like a newspaper cover. The use of both black and fluorescent orange makes the work legible yet bold and contrasting. The influence for the content within the zine derives from local news, pop culture and politics. This is something that I thoroughly enjoyed making and may continue to make in future." Normal News is one of eight new zines commissioned by Out of the Blueprint for Print Expo 2023, sustainably riso printed at our studio in Leith using rice ink on recycled paper. Show more
