The North Carolina State Flag has its initials and two dates which are important to the states history. On the first date, May 20, 1775, a group of people met at Mecklenberg and wr ote a paper in which they declared their independence. On the second date, April 12, 1776, NC’s lawmakers met at Halifax and prepared a paper called the Halifax Resolves. It told delegates in PA to join with delegates from other colonies in declaring independence. Show more
