More about the Route The start is inauspicious heading down Belfast Road to the river but provides a fitting contrast to the rest of the run as you follow the well maintained path alongside the river, surrounded by picturesque greenery and occasional bridges spanning the waterway. The trail offers a peaceful ambiance, with the calming sounds of the flowing river and birdsong. Tall trees line the path, providing shade and adding to the natural beauty of the surroundings. As you progress towards Belfast, the landscape subtly transitions from rural to more urban, reflecting the approach to the city. There are some road crossings to negotiate in Belfast but these have been neutralised for timing purposes so there is no rush to get to the other side. The finish is at Belfast Harbour Marina. If you love running by the water, this has to be a route for your bucket list. Run the route, earn your medal, and sit back with the unbeatable satisfaction of job well done along this iconic stretch of water.
