3' x 5' polyester Norway Flag with grommets and double-stitched edges to reduce fraying. ✍️ The Design: The flag of Norway is a vexillological masterpiece, often celebrated as one of the most aesthetically perfect banners in the world! Known as the korsbanner, this flag was born from a stroke of creative genius during a pivotal moment in the nation's history. Designed in 1821 by Fredrik Meltzer, the flag was a deliberate call for liberty. Meltzer chose the striking combination of red, white, and blue to mirror the colors of the French Tricolor and the flags of the United States and United Kingdom; the great symbols of freedom at the time. The design also carries a clever tribute to Norway’s past: the red and white honor the centuries-old union with Denmark, while the blue cross represents the union with Sweden that existed at the time of its creation. Set in the iconic Nordic Cross style, this banner is more than just a piece of fabric; it is a symbol of Norway’s rugged landscapes, its seafaring heritage, and its fierce journey toward independence. It remains a proud tribute to a nation that values its history while standing firmly as a beacon of modern democracy. Show more
