A large fast-growing tree that forms a strong, outreaching canopy with open-spaced branches that can command any landscape. It produces delicate lemon green flowers at the very first signs of spring, these make way to large leaves which are typical maple-shaped; which turn bright yellow, orange or brown in autumn. Winged seeds are produced in Autumn Growing Conditions: Grows best in a moist but well-drained soil. Is tolerant of urban pollution and poor, compacted soils. Value To Wildlife: Leaves provide a great food source for caterpillars, bees are attracted to the flowers and its seeds are eaten by a wide range of birds and small mammals.
