Notifier ISO-XA — SLC loop fault isolator module; the ULC-listed Canadian version of the ISO-X.Used with Notifier Onyx and CLIP series fire alarm control panels. When a wire-to-wire short pulls the signaling line circuit below four volts, it opens the loop, and the rest of the loop keeps working. It resets itself when the short is cleared and needs no address. Isolators are spaced between groups of devices, so a short takes out only the section between two of them. Powered from the SLC: 15–32 VDC (peak), 450 µA standby, 17 mA maximum while isolating Up to 25 devices between isolators; a B224RB relay base counts as 2.5 devices Supports Style 4, 6 or 7 wiring; a yellow LED pulses in normal operation and stays on during a short Mounts on a 4 in. square box at least 2.125 in. deep; SMB500 surface backbox optional 32–120 °F, 10–93% RH non-condensing; ULC file S635 The ISO-X is the UL-listed US version of the same module. The ISO-6A is a six-circuit isolator module that mounts in a cabinet or on a chassis. The B224BI is an isolator detector base, not a module.
