The NRA Basic Rifle Course teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for the safe and effective use of a rifle in target shooting. Developed by the National Rifle Association, this class is widely taught and respected throughout the world that it may be regarded as the gold standard of basic rifle training. Hundreds of thousands of students have started rifle shooting with this course. This is an all day course which includes both a classroom sessions and live-fire session at The Firing Line shooting range at 20 S. Potomac St., Aurora, CO 80012. Students may bring their own 22 LR rifle . Rentals are available from your instructor. Students learn: NRA’s rules for safe gun handling; rifle parts and operation; ammunition; shooting fundamentals; range rules; shooting from the bench rest, prone, sitting, standing and kneeling positions; cleaning, and continued opportunities for skill development.
