Moose ManeMoose mane is a classic, natural fly tying material prized for its strength, length, and striking appearance. The long, stiff fibers—typically black, white, or banded—are perfect for making segmented dry fly bodies, especially on traditional patterns like the Humpy or Royal Wulff. With excellent floatation properties and natural durability, moose mane is ideal for body wraps, antennae, and tails on a variety of trout and bass flies. Its bold contrast also makes it a favorite for realistic terrestrial and mayfly imitations. Features: Long, strong fibers ideal for wrapping segmented bodies Natural banding provides built-in contrast Great for dry fly bodies, tails, and antennae Excellent floatation and durability Available in natural and dyed variations Moose mane brings both form and function to your fly tying bench—perfect for tiers seeking traditional aesthetics and natural performance.
