Two curly short-wool Merino sheepskins, joined down the middle to make one long runner of roughly 67 x 24 in. The extra length is what makes it useful. It sits along the foot of a bed, runs the length of a bench, or drapes over the back of a two-seater without leaving a gap at either end. The fleece is short and tightly curled, so it keeps its shape under weight and picks up less dust than a long-wool skin. These are real hides, so the two halves will never match perfectly. A slight difference in tone or curl either side of the seam is normal, and it is one of the easiest ways to tell a genuine skin from a printed imitation. A note on grade: we specialize in seconds, also called B-grade skins. That grade is about appearance, not quality. A skin might have a slightly irregular shape, or a little variation in color or fleece across it, and that is enough to keep it out of the very top premium grade, which is judged on strict looks. The wool is just as soft and the hide is just as strong.
