This wine is the perfect expression of the Nero di Troia grape – the oldest of Puglia’s varieties, and it's DOCG designation recognises the unique characteristics of the terroir an d winemaking methods of this prestigious wine making region - sumptuous, precious and noble. This 100% Nero di Troia wine is made from only the best bunches of grapes harvested from 30-year-old vines and aged in wood barrels for 12 months and then for a further 6 months in the bottle. The colour is a deep impenetrable ruby red. On the nose it has a bold character and a peerless intensity, hints of red rose, potpourri, preserved fruit, sweet chocolate cherries, cloves, menthol and aromatic tobacco. In the mouth, the alcohol and tannins are in perfect balance providing intense freshness, but also good potential for bottle aging. The finish is long and persistent with toasted and balsamic notes that pair well with meat and pasta dishes as well as aged cheese. Show more
