The semi-flush design projects 650mm from the ceiling, positioning the illuminated loop well into the room while maintaining clearance for standard 2.4m ceiling heights. Designed for open-plan living rooms, dining areas and entrance halls where ambient light is needed without ceiling pendants or downlights, the Nur provides even diffusion across walls and furniture without creating hard shadows or glare zones. Yes. The integrated 40W LED is dimmable but requires a compatible trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer switch rated for LED loads. Standard incandescent dimmers may cause flickering or buzzing. Please contact us to confirm compatibility with your existing dimmer before installation. What ceiling height is needed for the 650mm drop? The Nur projects 650mm from the ceiling to the bottom of the illuminated loop. In rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, this leaves approximately 1.75m clearance beneath the fitting, which is sufficient for walking under in most domestic settings. Lower ceilings below 2.3m may feel restricted. How is the Nur fitted to the ceiling? The white ceiling plate fixes directly to a ceiling joist or solid ceiling structure using screws and fixings (supplied). The 1.74kg weight requires secure fixing — plasterboard fixings alone are not sufficient. Electrical connection is made inside the ceiling plate to UK mains wiring. Can the LED be replaced when it fails? The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000 hours of use (around 11 years at 6 hours per day).
