How it tastes Grande Cuvée is blended from around 120 wines drawn from more than ten vintages, then aged in barrel — a scale of blending no other house attempts. Intense and round, with roasted hazelnut and dried fruit over a fresh, floral lift. The producer Krug ferment every parcel separately in small oak casks and hold an enormous library of reserve wines, which is what makes a non-vintage of this complexity possible. The house has kept to that method since 1843, at considerable cost and against every commercial argument for simplifying it.
