This additive is used to increase the adhesion of plastisol inks to nylon and polyester surfaces. General mix ratio is 5% by weight, up to 8% for high pigment load inks. Mixed ink has a shelf-life and will only be printable for 4-8 hours and should be cleaned from screen when done printing. Full adhesion will occur 24-48 hours after printing. Mixing: By volume = 16 parts ink to 1 part catalyst By weight = 20 parts ink to 1 part catalyst (1-OZ of catalyst to 1 pint of ink 2-OZ of catalyst to 1 quart of ink 8-OZ of catalyst to 1 gallon of ink) 900 Catalyst can also be combined with ink at 2-3% to reduce fibrillation (fiber lift) occuring after washing. Adding catalyst can also improve adhesion on many other fabrics, not just nylon. 900 Catalyst can also improve adhesion to leather or vinyl substrates, but it is crucial to test that the substrate can withstand the 320 degree F cure temperatures required to cure the ink.
