Nympheal is the most recent captive muguet molecule to come to the market (the other being Mimosal™ from Firmenich) and the first for Givaudan. With the banning of Lyral and Lilial in Europe, Nympheal is a much needed material for the modern perfumer. First appearing in Woman In Gold (2017) by Killian, this is Givaudan's "Lilial-replacer" holy grail. Nympheal can be dosed higher than some muguet materials (such as Dupical and Hivernal Neo), however, it should be noted that in contrast to Lilial, Nympheal is much more powerful (around 20 times) and so it does not function as a one for one replacer. To replace Lilial, start at 5 – 10 times less Nympheal and work up until you are satisfied. Nympheal creates an astonishing synergy when blended with LMR Patchouli Heart No 3, though blends with any patchouli oil are beautiful. Nympheal also combines well with the classic Muguet 16 and all our Muguet bases, Florol, Amazonia™, Suralette® Extra, Acetal CD, Cyclamen Aldehyde and Rose Oxide Laevo. See our demo formula below which exploits the patchouli / Nympheal synergy. It is a modern floral fresh Mellis type fragrance in the tradition of Dior's Poison (1985) and Moon Dance (2014) by Juliette Has A Gun. Nympheal is biodegradable.
