Go further with MODBC, our first snow helmet for backcountry touring and ski mountaineering. Blending triple-certified safety standards with sleek innovative design, the ultralight 450g helmet elevates alpine performance by combining its durable polycarbonate shell with essential technologies MIPS, RECCO and Twiceme. Expertly crafted ventilation channels optimize airflow and goggle performance, ensuring best-in-class clarity when navigating challenging conditions. The cutting edge modular design features a removable beanie with visor and strategic ventilation to replace cumbersome traditional liners: perfect for adapting to the skin track and frequently switching up your headwear for the ascents and descents. Tailor your wear based on your objective; when you want to wear the beanie solo, the helmet’s bungee straps and molded rubber yoke provide straight-forward backpack storage. Versatility meets functionality with hat compatibility, eyewear storage, and headlamp integration, while the antimicrobial Ionic+ interior material fights off odor and is conveniently machine washable. MODBC: our ultimate companion for conquering the backcountry and finding the fall line. FIT: MODBC is equipped with Oakley's 360° Fit System that features an adjustable dial to deliver a customized, secure fit. CERTIFICATIONS: MODBC is triple certified to EN 1077, ASTM F2040, and EN 12492 which is the mountaineering standard. WEIGHT: MODBC features an in-mold polycarbonate shell and weighs under 450 grams, making it one of our lightest helmets available. EYEWEAR STORAGE: Whether you’re climbing the summit before sunrise or getting in an afterwork lap, two ports toward the front of the helmet include options for eyewear stowage and headlamp integration. HAT COMPATIBILITY: An extra bonus can be found for riders who like wearing their favorite hat under their helmet. Inside is a hat button compartment for pain-free hat compatibility. VENTILATION: The front fixed goggle vents optimize goggle performance and help reduce the chances of fogging. The adjustable ventilation across the top of helmet is partnered with interior channeled foam to help direct the flow of air over your head and out through the exhaust ports at the back of the helmet. REMOVABLE BEANIE: Instead of bulky, traditional ear pads and a heavy liner that people often rip out, MODBC comes with a slimmer, lightweight beanie. The beanie features a ventilated visor for optimal airflow, flat-lock seams to reduce friction, ear flaps for extra coverage, and is machine washable. IONIC+ PADDING: Ionic+ is an anti-microbial, odor-fighting material that’s machine washable. We’ve also developed the padding system to be one piece for easy packing. PROTECTION: Not only does MODBC have lower shell coverage for enhanced protection, but extra safety features such as Mips, RECCO, and Twiceme, all come standard. FIDLOCK BUCKLE: Seamless magnetic functionality lets you fasten your helmet with gloves on. GOGGLE INTEGRATION: Designed for optimal integration with Oakley goggles.
