Oakwood Base, Ventos smells like the inside of a spirits cellar. Dark, rich oak wood meets cognac and whisky-barrel booze, threaded with woodsmoke, sweet vanilla and a nutty chestn ut warmth. A balsamic sweetness rounds the whole thing off. Because of the sweetness, it is an excellent base to add a touch of smoke without dominating as easily as you can with Birch and Cade. A touch will ground woody, leather and oriental accords in aged-barrel warmth, and it turns sweet gourmand ideas boozy, lending cognac, rum and whisky effects an authentic woody backbone. Show more
