OB Peacock OB Peacock is an aquarium-created peacock strain known for highly variable orange-blotch color and pattern. Individual fish may show orange, yellow, blue, pink, purple, red, or white tones with anything from heavy blotching to a lighter OB pattern. Origin and Habitat Native Region: Aquarium-created peacock strain from Lake Malawi peacock stock. Natural Habitat: Aquarium strain; provide a Malawi-style setup with open swimming room and rockwork. Physical Characteristics Size: 6-7 inches. Coloration: Highly variable OB patterning; fish may show many color combinations and different amounts of blotching. Body Shape: Medium peacock body with a laterally compressed profile. Behavior and Temperament Temperament: Mildly aggressive. Social Behavior: Best kept with other peacocks and similarly tempered Lake Malawi haps. Aquarium Care Tank Size: A 55 gallon aquarium or larger is recommended. Water Parameters: 74-84°F, pH 7.4-8.4, hard water. Tank Setup: Use sand, open swimming space, rockwork for cover and sight breaks, and stable filtration. Diet and Feeding Primary Staple: Feed a quality daily diet such as Ron’s Peacock & Hap Adult Food. Juveniles: Growing fish can be fed Ron’s Juvenile Food.
