Obsidian Wave Inspired by my trip to Iceland’s striking black sand beaches, the layered form mirrors the ocean’s waves — each with its own path, leaving a distinct mark. Just like us, shaping the world in our own unique way. I crafted it layer by layer from black clay, slowly building the walls half an inch at a time using a pinching and layering technique. The exposed edges capture the waves as they meet the shore, while the raw exterior represents the rustic beauty of volcanic sand. Inside, a soft white glaze brings life and energy, and a subtle jute pattern adds depth, echoing the textures of the ocean floor beneath the waves — a serene interpretation of nature’s artistry captured in clay. Created Once, Collected Forever The Statement Centerpieces collection is made up of singular works — no editions, no reproductions. Occasionally, I create a series inspired by a shared theme, yet even within those, no two pieces are ever alike — each carries its own unique character and identity.
