There is 7 editions left of this artwork THE STORY BEHIND THE PICTURE The lighthouse is undoubtedly a symbol of hope and light in dark times. The tallest lighthouse in Canada was therefore an element of choice in this dramatic landscape, shaken by the waves and the wind making long exposure extremely difficult, a key element to be part of my Black & Worn Collection. Both the lighthouse and the rocks in the foreground have been worn away by nature, the second non-negotiable criterion. The Black & Worn collection includes works in black and white showing the wear of certain elements in their environment. These works are all long exposures, giving way to the movement of nature which contributes to their wear. In an era where consumption takes precedence and where we replace rather than repair, this collection shows the beauty of worn, eroded elements which have faced the elements for tens, hundreds, or thousands of years, and which nevertheless radiate of a certain beauty. Although this collection highlights landscapes, the message it sends is just as human. How many people have been worn out by life, but hold on and never give up. The landscapes of Black & Worn pay homage to them.
