This stool is one of those pieces that quietly solves a lot of problems at events. It’s a compact, freestanding cardboard stool with an octagonal shape, designed for short-term seating, flexible layouts, and spaces that need to adapt throughout the day. At 47cm high or 65cm high with a 28cm diameter top, it sits at a comfortable height for casual seating, workshops, and activation spaces. It works well anywhere you need extra seating without bringing in bulky furniture. Pop-ups, exhibitions, talks, kids zones, or even as a branded plinth when no one’s sitting on it. How It Works The stool is made from structural cardboard components that slot together to form a rigid internal core. That internal structure is what gives it strength. It’s not hollow or flimsy. Once assembled, it holds its shape and distributes weight evenly through the vertical panels. The top is capped with a separate circular or octagonal lid. This is the part that takes the most wear, which is why we design it to be replaceable. Everything packs flat for transport, then assembles on site without tools. If you’ve ever built anything with slot-together panels, it’s that same logic, just engineered for load and stability. Customisation and Branding This is where the stool becomes more than just seating. Top caps and branding The top surface can be printed, coloured, or swapped out entirely. This is great for: logos or campaign messaging colour coding zones or seating areas changing branding across multi-day events Because the top cap is replaceable, you don’t need to rebuild the whole stool if the design changes or gets worn down. Structure and finish The outer faces can be: left raw for a natural cardboard look printed with full graphics coloured to match brand palettes Shape and scale This version sits at: 47cm high or 65cm high 28cm diameter We can adjust height, width, or proportions depending on use. Lower versions work well for kids spaces. Taller versions can lean more into plinth or display use. Sustainability These stools are designed with real-world event use in mind, including what happens after the event finishes. They’re made from recyclable cardboard, sourced through responsible supply chains and manufactured with minimal waste. Because they’re lightweight, transport emissions are lower compared to traditional furniture. They also flat pack, which reduces volume during shipping. The replaceable top cap extends the life of the piece. Instead of discarding the whole stool, you can refresh the surface and keep using the structure. A lot of our clients are trying to reduce event waste without compromising on design or experience. Pieces like this help make that achievable. As part of a broader shift toward more responsible production and event design, businesses are starting to think more carefully about materials, reuse, and impact across the full lifecycle of what they create . Ideal Applications These stools are surprisingly versatile. You’ll see them used in: trade shows and exhibition stands brand activations and pop-ups workshops and community events kids activity zones theatre and set design retail displays and temporary installs informal seating areas at conferences They’re especially useful in spaces that need to change throughout the day. Seating one minute, display the next. FAQs How strong are they? Stronger than most people expect. The internal structure is designed to distribute weight vertically, so they comfortably support adult seating in event environments. If you have specific load requirements, we can design to suit. Can they be reused? Yes, and that’s how most clients use them. They’re durable enough for multiple uses across events, especially when handled and stored properly. The replaceable top helps extend their lifespan even further. What happens if the top gets damaged? You can replace just the top cap. That’s one of the key benefits of this design. It takes the most wear, so being able to swap it out means the rest of the stool stays in use. Can they be shipped interstate? Yes. They flat pack, which keeps freight efficient. We regularly send these across Australia and can design packaging depending on how they’ll be transported or stored. How long does it take to produce? Lead times vary depending on quantity and level of customisation. As a general guide, allow a few weeks from design sign-off to delivery. If you’re working to a tight deadline, it’s always worth asking. We can often adjust depending on the build. Can we print full branding on them? Yes. We can print across the top, sides, or both. This includes logos, patterns, messaging, or full campaign graphics. It’s a great way to turn functional seating into part of the visual experience.
